Face Painting for all ages

Combined with a bounce house rental, face painting is the easy, affordable way to make your next event one your guests will always remember.

Face Painting Tips

There are face painting kits you can buy at most party supply stores or even at such places as Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby. Or you can hire a professional face painter to come in and provide the service for you.

If you choose to do it yourself, here are a few tips from the professionals that can help you do it safely.

First, you want to use face paints that are non-oil based. These tend to smear more easily, are more difficult to remove, and can sometimes clog the pores on the faces of children. Instead, look for brands such as Snazaroo and other common face paints that are safer and more convenient.

Second, when you are ready to start painting, dab a corner of the makeup sponge or soft-bristled brush in a little water and start your design.

Easy Does It

Go for the easiest designs first — such as traditional clown faces or simple animals — before tackling the more challenging ones such as superheroes.

To make your face painting designs really special, finish the look with a little sparkle. You can find these non-toxic, fabric-based glitter materials in most fabric and crafts stores.

To apply sparkle, dip the opposite tip of the paintbrush into a little water, then dry off the excess moisture and dip it into the glitter. It should then easily roll onto the face as a highlight to the other face paint.

Make sure you keep a mirror nearby so the child can see and appreciate your handiwork when you are finished.
